The DFKI has been researching AI for humans for over 35 years and is focused on social relevance and scientific excellence in the crucial future-oriented research and application areas of artificial intelligence. In the international scientific world, the DFKI is one of the most important “Centers of Excellence”.
The research department of Intelligent Networks under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Dieter Schotten works on innovative concepts for the development and implementation of particularly sophisticated and future-proof communication, AI, but also security and resilience solutions, especially on technologies for 5G/6G mobile communications, industrial communication and programmable infrastructures. Fields of application for these technologies are diverse and include, for example, industry, robotics, autonomous driving, agriculture, construction sites, medical technology and much more.
